Hawaii

My sister Janice is based in Hawaii for a month and said anyone who wants to visit she has an extra bed. So, my mom and I casually talked about going, then my sister checked the flights on a Tuesday and said the best day to come would be Thursday. We had two days notice. I told Janice to book the flight for me and the kids without even checking to make sure my mom could go. My mom thought I was crazy to risk her not being able to go and help me with the kids. We left Nate at home because it was short notice and Nate couldn't miss a week of work right now. He didn't even miss us. He bought a new mountain bike and went biking non-stop. Anyway, the kids were a lot of work, but it was so worth it. We had a lot of fun and it was so gorgeous! We stayed on the island of Kauai. We did some sight seeing, relaxed at the beach and went swimming at the hotel pool. Our hotel had a gorgeous pool area and was right on the beach.

Spouting Horn
If you look close you can see a sea turtle in the water.

If you look close you can see a guy up trimming the trees.

Plantation train tour
We took a train tour at a plantation and we got to feed pigs and goats.

Oliver enjoyed watching out the window.

Kadence was in love with Janice's Hawaiian wrap. We ended up buying her her own just like it.

The gorgeous view out our balcony.

Cute kids relaxing in the hotel.

Getting ready to go to the beach. She was a little excited. She ran and got all the toys while the rest of us were getting ready.

Kadence is ready to go to the beach. She hated the waves touching her so we went to a beach that had a wall to block the waves, but the water still moved so she didn't like it.

Kadence was scared of the waves at the beach. She would hardly get in the water.

There were chickens all over the place. Kadence loved it.

Opaekaa Falls

Kadence had her breakfast on the balcony most mornings.

Gorgeous rainbow out our window.

More chickens.

Here is a closer view of the beached monk seal. It kind of looks like a log.
